Ungoliant.net is the webdevelopment portfolio of Paul Melssen.
About me...
I'm a corporate webdeveloper passionate about web standards, clean coding, search engine optimization, usability and accessibility. Have been since 1998.
Having drawn up designs in Photoshop, I like to hand-code my sites in Notepad++ and Dreamweaver code view using OO-PHP, XHTML, CSS and some JavaScript (AJAX).
Tags that relate to other aspects of my persona: languages, history, mythology, rock music, movies, star trek, dvds, fantasy, bilingual, dark scene, dark wave, gael, anglo-american.
...and Ungoliant
Ungoliant is the name of an evil spirit in the form of a spider who dwelt in Avathar in the First Age of Middle-earth, as depicted in The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien. She was Melkor's accomplice in the Darkening of Valinor, and fled with him to Middle-earth. The creatures that infested the Ered Gorgoroth were her offspring and descendants, as was Shelob who dwelt on the borders of Mordor.

Wonderlijke WC Web
To accomodate a lack of online Efteling humor, I developed Wonderlijke WC Web with some friends, a site that primarily deals with toilet and restaurant reviews, very extensive ride reviews, general park reviews, music reviews, satire, stories, letters from Efteling characters, and lots more. It's a static HTML site in frames, but it mainly excels in terms of atmosphere and design.
